Senior/Principal Acoustic Consultant (Brighton)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior/Principal Acoustic Consultant to join an independent consultancy in Brighton. The successful candidate will lead a diverse portfolio of environmental and building acoustics projects, providing expert advice to public and private clients.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver acoustic design and advice for residential, commercial, rail and public sector schemes.
• Conduct noise surveys, sound insulation testing and acoustic modelling.
• Prepare high‑quality technical reports and mitigation recommendations for authorities and clients.
• Manage project budgets, schedules and financial reporting.
• Supervise and mentor junior consultants, ensuring quality and compliance.
• Identify new business opportunities and support business development activities.

Required profile

• Qualified in acoustics, noise control or noise & vibration (recognised technical discipline).
• Member of the Institute of Acoustics.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Significant consultancy experience, preferably in environmental acoustics with exposure to building acoustics.
• Experience managing medium to large projects and leading multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong communication and client liaison skills.
