Senior/Principal Geospatial Surveyor

About the role

Join a leading consulting and engineering firm to lead complex geospatial survey programmes across infrastructure, water and environmental projects. You will combine hands‑on field leadership with responsibility for survey methodology, equipment maintenance and delivery of high‑quality CAD, BIM and point‑cloud outputs.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute topographic, control, boundary, measured‑building and volumetric surveys using GNSS, total stations, terrestrial/mobile LiDAR and UAV platforms.
• Prepare method statements, risk assessments and ensure compliance with client specifications and industry standards.
• Mentor and develop junior surveyors, set QA/QC standards for data acquisition and processing.
• Act as technical lead on client engagements, bid preparation and stakeholder communication.
• Maintain and troubleshoot survey equipment, optimise workflows on‑site.

Required profile

• Degree or HND in Surveying, Geomatics or Geospatial Science, or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience with GNSS, total stations and LiDAR technologies.
• Competence in Leica Reg360/Cyclone, Leica Infinity, AutoCAD, ReCap or equivalent software.
• Strong leadership, client‑facing abilities and commitment to site safety.
• Driving licence, willingness to travel and professional membership (RICS/CICES) desirable.
