Service Advisor – Customer-Focused Automotive Role

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Service Advisor to join our busy dealership in Hatfield. In this customer‑facing role you will be the first point of contact for vehicle owners, ensuring their service experience is smooth, transparent and enjoyable.

Key responsibilities

• Greet customers at the service desk, build rapport and manage their expectations.
• Schedule servicing, maintenance and repair work while maximising workshop capacity.
• Identify and promote value‑adding services, parts and labour to increase revenue.
• Provide regular updates to customers throughout the service process.
• Arrange courtesy vehicles or alternative transport when required.
• Coordinate closely with the Workshop Controller and technicians to keep workflow on track.
• Explain completed work, pricing and recommendations clearly to customers.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Service Advisor, Aftersales Advisor, Service Receptionist or Service Consultant in a main‑dealer or reputable independent garage.
• Strong communication skills, both on the phone and face‑to‑face.
• Organised, accurate and able to prioritise administrative tasks.
• Calm, proactive attitude in a fast‑paced environment.
