Service Advisor – Customer-Focused Role in Cambridge

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Service Advisor to join our busy after‑sales department at a reputable dealership in Cambridge. You will be the first point of contact for customers, ensuring a smooth, friendly experience while helping the workshop run efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Welcome customers at the service desk, build rapport and make their visit effortless.
• Book vehicles for servicing, maintenance and repairs while maximising workshop efficiency.
• Identify and upsell value‑adding services, labour and products.
• Keep customers updated throughout the day and ensure clear communication.
• Arrange courtesy cars or alternative transport when required.
• Collaborate closely with the Workshop Controller and Technicians to keep workflow on track.
• Explain work carried out, pricing and recommendations clearly to customers.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Service Advisor, Aftersales Advisor, Service Receptionist or Service Consultant in a main dealer or quality independent garage.
• Genuine enjoyment of helping people and a confident, friendly manner.
• Strong communication skills both on the phone and face‑to‑face.
• Excellent administrative and organisational abilities, able to prioritise in a fast‑paced environment.
• Proactive attitude with the ability to stay calm under pressure.
