Service Advisor – Edinburgh Dealership

About the role

We are seeking a personable Service Advisor to join our busy Edinburgh dealership. You will be the first point of contact for customers bringing their vehicles in for service, ensuring a smooth and pleasant experience from arrival to departure.

Key responsibilities

• Welcome customers at the service desk, build rapport and manage their expectations.
• Schedule servicing, maintenance and repairs while maximising workshop efficiency.
• Identify and promote value‑adding services, parts and labour.
• Keep customers informed throughout the service process and provide clear explanations of work performed, pricing and recommendations.
• Arrange courtesy cars or alternative transport when required.
• Collaborate closely with the Workshop Controller and technicians to maintain workflow.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Service Advisor, Aftersales Advisor, Service Receptionist or Service Consultant in a main dealer or reputable independent garage.
• Genuine enjoyment of helping people and strong communication skills, both face‑to‑face and over the phone.
• Excellent administrative and IT abilities, with a focus on accuracy and prioritisation.
• Proactive attitude and the capacity to stay calm in a fast‑paced environment.
