Service and Commissioning Engineer – Bespoke Machinery

About the role

Join a world‑renowned manufacturer of bespoke machinery and automated equipment as a Service and Commissioning Engineer. Based near Cambridge, you will act as the technical point of contact for installation, commissioning and maintenance of a diverse range of custom‑built machines.

Key responsibilities

• Provide on‑site and remote support to clients and internal teams during installation phases.
• Install, commission and test purpose‑built machinery, including automated assembly lines and robotic handling units.
• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance, ensuring optimal performance of existing equipment.
• Travel to client sites across the UK and internationally, with an approximate 50/50 split between workshop and field work.

Required profile

• Experience as a Service Engineer, Commissioning Engineer, or both, within a machinery‑focused environment.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Willingness to travel nationwide and worldwide to customer locations.
• Residence within reasonable commuting distance to Cambridge.
