Service and Maintenance Technician

About the role

As a Service and Maintenance Technician/MOT Tester you will join Vertu Ford Shirley’s workshop team, delivering high‑quality pre‑delivery inspections and MOT testing on new and used vehicles. You will work to manufacturer guidelines, maintain productivity targets and ensure an exceptional customer experience.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out Pre‑Delivery Inspections (PDIs) on new and used vehicles to the highest standard.
• Perform MOT testing where licensed, adhering to legal and manufacturer requirements.
• Maintain agreed time frames and achieve first‑time fix rates.
• Uphold quality workmanship and safety standards in the workshop.
• Work Saturdays as overtime when required.

Required profile

• Relevant automotive qualification – City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3.
• Current experience as a Vehicle Technician.
• MOT licence preferred but not essential.
• Own set of automotive tools.
• Full UK driving licence.
