Service Centre Team Leader

About the role

The Service Centre Team Leader will be based on‑site in Elstree and will oversee the daily operations of a busy service centre. You will lead a team of technicians, manage workloads and ensure high‑quality service delivery to meet customer and business expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day service centre activities, making operational decisions as needed.
• Manage and prioritise inspection, repair and refurbishment workloads.
• Coordinate refurbishment programmes, control repair costs and prepare products for resale.
• Collaborate with technical support teams to resolve product or equipment issues.
• Maintain appropriate stock levels and ensure parts availability.
• Review, approve and issue customer quotations and service orders.
• Monitor departmental performance, produce reports and share updates.
• Contribute to budget planning, forecasting and financial target achievement.
• Support auditing of external service partners and coordinate demonstration equipment requests.
• Respond to customer enquiries via phone and email.
• Assist with delivery of technical training programmes.
• Lead, coach and develop service technicians, set objectives and monitor KPIs.
• Conduct performance reviews, manage attendance, holidays and overtime.
• Review and update departmental processes and procedures.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a similar service centre or maintenance environment.
• Previous responsibility for leading a team of technicians.
• Strong understanding of service maintenance and refurbishment processes.
• Ability to make operational decisions and manage budgets.
