Service Charge Accountant

About the role

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Service Charge Accountant to join a modern, ambitious employer in Stockport. You will work in brand‑new offices, supported by strong management and well‑designed processes, within a close‑knit team that values collaboration and high‑quality service.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare service charge accounts and year‑end reconciliations.
• Produce budgets and monitor expenditure against forecasts.
• Review income, expenditure and reserve fund movements.
• Investigate and resolve service charge queries.
• Liaise with property managers, clients, auditors and other stakeholders.
• Ensure accounts are completed accurately and within agreed deadlines.
• Support the wider team during peak periods.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and reporting.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a service charge accounting role (essential).
• Organised, accurate and confident in managing deadlines.
• Strong communication skills with both financial and non‑financial stakeholders.
