Service Charge Accountant (Temporary)

About the role

We are seeking a Service Charge Accountant to join our client’s property finance team on a temporary basis. Based in Beckenham, you will work full‑time in an office environment, supporting the financial health of a portfolio of properties.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements for service charge accounts.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable related to property services.
• Perform bank reconciliations and ensure timely posting of transactions.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
• Collaborate with property managers and other stakeholders to streamline processes.
• Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• A degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent professional experience.
• Proven experience handling service charge accounts, preferably within the property sector.
• Strong organisational skills and high attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
