Service & Commissioning Engineer – Bespoke Machinery

About the role

We are seeking a Service and Commissioning Engineer to join a world‑renowned manufacturer of bespoke machinery and automated equipment. You will act as the technical expert delivering on‑site and remote support for installation, commissioning and maintenance of purpose‑built machines.

Key responsibilities

• Provide on‑site and remote support to clients and internal staff during machinery installation phases.
• Install and commission a variety of bespoke, purpose‑built machinery, including automated assembly lines and robotic handling systems.
• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance and servicing of existing equipment.
• Travel to client sites nationwide and worldwide, balancing workshop and field work (approximately 50/50 split).

Required profile

• Experience as a Service Engineer, Commissioning Engineer, or both, within a manufacturing or machinery environment.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Willingness to travel extensively across the UK and internationally.
• Based within commuting distance of Cambridge.

Required skills

• Installation of industrial machinery.
• Commissioning of automated equipment.
• Maintenance and servicing of bespoke machines.
• Familiarity with robotic handling systems and automated assembly lines.
