Service Controller

About the role

The Service Controller will act as the primary point of contact for customers and service engineers, ensuring smooth daily operations and timely delivery of service work. This full‑time position is based in Hoo, South East England, and supports a range of engineering and maintenance activities.

Key responsibilities

• Answer incoming customer calls and take appropriate action.
• Plan workloads and deploy engineers to maximise efficiency.
• Liaise with depots, dealers and third‑party providers to meet agreed response times.
• Log job information and generate KPI data.
• Monitor job sheets, timesheets and daily operations, escalating variances to the Service Manager.
• Follow up parts requests and manage VOR machines to minimise downtime.
• Produce chargeable work estimates using the standard template.
• Cover colleagues during absences and handle general admin duties.
• Authorize overtime in line with the Service Manager and ensure SLA compliance.

Required profile

• Strong telephone etiquette and customer‑focused attitude.
• Excellent organisational and communication abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
