Service Coordinator – Transport

About the role

Veolia is seeking a Service Coordinator to manage day‑to‑day transport service delivery in Basingstoke. You will allocate work to vehicles and routes, liaise with customers and drivers, and ensure safety and compliance on site.

Key responsibilities

• Manage service delivery, dynamically allocating work to vehicles and routes.
• Communicate status updates to customers, stakeholders and drivers.
• Conduct debriefs with front‑line staff and report actions as needed.
• Engage face‑to‑face with drivers to resolve on‑route issues.
• Report safety concerns or container damage and enforce “stop the job” when unsafe.
• Ensure on‑site legal compliance (WTD, O’Licence, transport regulations).

Required profile

• Understanding of transport compliance and Waste Transfer Documentation (WTD).
• Strong communication with drivers, frontline staff and customers.
• Ability to organise a busy workload and work at a fast pace.
• Experience with a quality management system such as ISO.
• Experience managing transport compliance.
• Proficient IT skills and adaptability to Google operating systems.
• Desirable: previous experience in waste, transport or logistics sectors.
