Service Delivery Manager

About the role

The public sector organisation is embarking on its digital strategy and needs a Service Delivery Manager to provide strategic and technical leadership across its technology estate. You will own the architecture, infrastructure and critical systems, ensuring they are secure, resilient and aligned with business objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Define and govern architecture across on‑premises, cloud and hybrid environments.
• Translate business requirements into technical roadmaps and delivery plans.
• Ensure high availability, performance and recoverability of critical systems.
• Lead, mentor and manage a team of senior engineers in both BAU and project delivery.
• Act as senior escalation point for major incidents and drive service improvement, modernisation and innovation.
• Maintain strong governance, change control and compliance with security standards.

Required profile

• Significant experience leading technical infrastructure or cloud environments in complex settings.
• Deep understanding of enterprise architecture, networks and systems integration.
• Proven ability to translate technical concepts into business outcomes.
• Strong leadership skills managing senior engineers and operating at strategic and operational levels.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and supplier management.
• Experience with structured service management frameworks such as ITIL.
