Service Delivery Manager

About the role

As a Service Delivery Manager at FCC Environment you will oversee the day‑to‑day delivery of waste and recycling collection services, ensuring they meet contractual standards, health and safety regulations, and quality expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily operations of waste and recycling collection services.
• Lead and support operational teams to achieve high performance and compliance.
• Allocate staff, vehicles and equipment efficiently while meeting legal requirements.
• Serve as the primary client contact for service issues and performance reporting.
• Monitor performance data, identify improvement opportunities and implement service enhancements.
• Support rollout of new processes, initiatives and service changes.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality standards.
• Assist with recruitment, training and employee welfare activities.
• Collaborate with senior management to assess risks and drive service improvements.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing operational contracts and leading teams.
• Strong understanding of waste, recycling or environmental services.
• Track record of meeting KPI targets and managing service performance.
• IOSH or equivalent health and safety qualification (or willingness to obtain).
• Excellent organisational and administrative abilities.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Proactive, motivated attitude with strong leadership skills.
