Service Designer – Financial Services

About the role

We are seeking a Service Designer to join our financial institution and insurance team in Chester. Working on a six‑month contract, you will help reshape how customers interact with our services, delivering innovative, user‑centred experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to identify user needs and develop intuitive service concepts.
• Conduct user research, gather insights, test ideas and iterate designs based on feedback.
• Create detailed service blueprints and journey maps that visualise the end‑to‑end customer experience.
• Develop functional prototypes to demonstrate and validate service concepts.
• Work closely with stakeholders to ensure designs align with business objectives and technology capabilities.

Required profile

• Proven experience in service design or a related discipline, preferably within financial services, insurance or similarly complex environments.
• Strong knowledge of user‑centred design methodologies and tools.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate ideas clearly.
• Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively in a team setting.

Required skills

• Proficiency with design software and service‑design tools.
