Service Desk Coordinator (Digital Operations)

About the role

The Service Desk Coordinator will support the National IT Service Desk within NHS England’s Digital Operations & Service Management team. You will help ensure reliable, high‑quality digital services for the health and social care system.

Key responsibilities

• Lead implementation of projects that affect service‑desk operations and initiatives.
• Allocate daily work to team members and monitor progress.
• Identify and drive service‑improvement opportunities.
• Act as deputy for the Service Desk Team Manager when required.
• Support the overall performance of the National IT Service Desk to meet agreed Service Level Agreements.
• Provide timely, effective support to stakeholders.
• Manage incident escalations, analyse trends and produce briefings, presentations and reports.

Required profile

• Experience working in a service‑desk or IT support environment, preferably within a large public sector organisation.
• Strong organisational and coordination abilities.
• Proactive attitude with a focus on continuous improvement.
• Ability to step in for the team manager and lead the team when needed.
