Service Engineer – Field Service & Maintenance

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Service Engineer to join WH Bence’s field service team in Yate, supporting specialist vehicle contracts across the UK and Ireland. The role combines on‑site diagnostics, repairs and preventative maintenance for a range of emergency service, hospitality and medical trailers.

Key responsibilities

• Perform mobile servicing, diagnostics and repairs on trailers and vehicles.
• Provide breakdown assistance and on‑site problem solving.
• Complete service reports and maintain accurate records.
• Deliver exceptional customer service during visits.
• Participate in standby call‑out rota, including overtime and occasional travel away from home.

Required profile

• Full Category B driving licence.
• Mechanical background with attention to detail.
• Experience in servicing and maintaining trailers or vehicles.
• Ability to work independently on client sites with telephone support.

Required skills

• Mechanical maintenance and repair.
• Diagnostics of vehicle systems.
• Basic knowledge of vehicle electrics and hydraulics (advantageous).
