Service Engineer – Fire & Security (Livingston)

About the role

We are seeking a Service Engineer with a fire and security background to join a leading energy and technical services business. You will be based in Livingston and cover sites across the Edinburgh area, delivering planned maintenance and occasional reactive support.

Key responsibilities

• Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on fire and security systems across multiple sites.
• Be on‑call one day in every eight for reactive work, receiving a standby bonus.
• Earn door‑to‑door pay at 1.5× for any hours worked outside normal schedule.
• Take optional overtime on weekdays and weekends to boost earnings.
• Participate in funded certification programmes and one‑on‑one technical training.
• Progress towards supervisory positions through a structured career pathway.

Required profile

• Experience as a Service Engineer or Technician in the fire and/or security industry.
• Willingness to work a local patch with no overnight stays and minimal on‑call duties.
• Desire for continuous technical development and career advancement.
