Service Engineer (HVAC & Plumbing)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Service Engineer to join a leading specialist in the maintenance of critical air‑conditioning and chiller equipment, supporting clients across Bristol. The role combines plumbing, HVAC and mechanical duties within a dynamic, growth‑focused business.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with Air Source Heat Pump installations alongside an AC fitter.
• Carry out plumbing works related to HVAC systems, including chlorination, sealed‑system testing and minor repairs on pumps and valves.
• Inspect, fault‑find and maintain plumbing fixtures, systems and associated equipment.
• Install mechanical or plumbing systems as required.
• Respond to urgent call‑outs, resolving issues promptly and professionally.
• Collaborate with multi‑disciplinary engineers on complex problems.
• Maintain accurate job records and track material usage.
• Deliver high‑standard customer service during all site visits.

Required profile

• Proven plumbing experience, preferably in commercial or site‑based environments.
• Relevant plumbing qualifications such as City & Guilds Level 2 Plumbing and NVQ Level 3 Plumbing.
• Good knowledge of mechanical equipment and installations.
• Interest or experience with Air Source Heat Pump technology (advantageous).
• Ability to read CAD plans and use IT systems confidently.
• Strong communication skills and a professional, customer‑focused approach.
• Problem‑solving ability, sound decision‑making and physical fitness for varied site conditions.
• Valid driving licence and CSCS card; gas qualifications are a plus.
