Service Engineer – Nuclear Power Station (Heysham)

About the role

Meritus Talent is seeking a Service Engineer to support the maintenance, commissioning and reliability of critical electrical and control systems at the Heysham Nuclear Power Station. You will work in a highly regulated environment, receiving full on‑site training for plant‑specific equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Install, test and commission small electrical and control system projects.
• Perform planned maintenance, site surveys, technical audits and system health checks.
• Carry out system upgrades, patching, backup and restore activities.
• Diagnose and resolve faults on electrical and control systems, providing both remote and on‑site support.
• Produce service reports and technical documentation.
• Participate in an out‑of‑hours support rota.

Required profile

• Strong electrical engineering background.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Excellent fault‑finding, problem‑solving, communication and organisational abilities.
• Eligibility to obtain SC security clearance.
