Service & Installation Engineer – Stairlifts & Hoists

About the role

We are looking for a Service / Installation Engineer to join a specialist stairlift and hoist company in South Cumbria. The role is Monday‑Friday, based locally, and offers a strong work‑life balance with the chance to increase earnings through overtime.

Key responsibilities

• Install, service and repair a range of ceiling hoists and stairlifts.
• Cover a local patch across Barrow‑in‑Furness, Dalton‑in‑Furness, Ulverston, Grange‑over‑Sands, Kendal, Kirkby and surrounding areas.
• Work standard office hours (8:30‑17:30) with optional overtime.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting on site.

Required profile

• Field Service or Installation Engineer with experience in hoists, stairlifts or similar technical installation/maintenance roles.
• Minimum 2 years’ relevant experience preferred; motivated candidates from related industries will be considered.
• Reliable, proactive and willing to work overtime to maximise earnings.
• Ideally based locally to minimise travel.

Required skills

• Installation of ceiling hoists.
• Repair and maintenance of stairlifts.
• Technical troubleshooting of hoist and stairlift systems.
• Use of standard mechanical and electrical tools for field service work.
