Service Manager (Renewables)

About the role

The Service Manager will lead the delivery of service, maintenance, remedial and installation programmes for a fast‑growing renewable energy business on the South Coast. Based in Portsmouth, you will coordinate field engineers, installation crews and support teams to ensure projects are completed safely, on time and to a high quality standard.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day service, maintenance and installation activities across solar PV, battery storage, roofing and electrical projects.
• Allocate jobs, provide accurate site information and materials to field engineers.
• Schedule and oversee scaffolding installations and removals where required.
• Maintain regular communication with field teams, customers and internal departments.
• Conduct toolbox talks and promote a strong health & safety culture.
• Resolve technical and operational issues promptly to minimise customer disruption.
• Adjust schedules in response to weather, supplier delays or emergency call‑outs.

Required profile

• Proven experience in service or field operations management within the renewable energy or construction sector.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and support field engineers.
• Excellent organisational and problem‑solving abilities.
• Commitment to health & safety best practices.
