Service Operator – Cementing (Level I)

About the role
This position supports cementing operations on oil‑field work sites. Working under direct supervision, you will rig up and down cementing service equipment, prepare cement mixes, and ensure all safety and environmental procedures are followed.
Key responsibilities
- Rig up and rig down cementing service equipment, including spotting cement storage vessels and pre‑mixing spacer fluids.
- Identify and add on‑the‑fly additives, set up data monitoring equipment, and plan emergency backup equipment.
- Perform pre‑job calculations such as pipe capacities, plug landing pressures, hydrostatic pressures, and bulk cement blending.
- Complete all required documentation, reports and forms related to each cementing service.
- Train and guide operator assistants on vehicle inspections, paperwork, and operation of cementing equipment.
- Operate cement pumps, blenders, liquid‑additive metering systems, centrifugal pumps, data acquisition and Automatic Density Control (ADC) systems.
- Handle bulk cement blending, delivery, storage, manifold equipment and cementing plug releasing tools.
Required profile
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 6 months experience as an Operator Assistant – Cementing (Level II) or similar.
- Possibly required commercial driver’s licence for equipment transport.
- Completion of relevant I‑Learn courses (e.g., General Hydraulics for Downhole Tools, Essential Preventative Maintenance).
- Strong safety awareness and ability to follow HSE regulations.
Required skills
- Cement pumping and mixed‑equipment operation.
- Blenders and liquid‑additive metering systems.
- Centrifugal pumps and data acquisition systems.
- Automatic Density Control (ADC) systems.
- Bulk cement blending, delivery, storage and manifold equipment.
- Cementing plug releasing tools.
- Knowledge of cementing blends, spacer fluid systems, sodium silicate fluids, loss‑circulation additives, casing attachments, float equipment, multi‑stage cementing tools and squeeze packers.
- Interpretation of basic lab test data (pump time, density, yield, water ratio).
