Service Scheduler (Engineering)

About the role

This 12‑month fixed‑term position is based in Milton Keynes and supports a busy Customer Support Centre for diagnostic and laboratory instrumentation. The Service Scheduler will act as the central hub for coordinating field service activities, ensuring customers receive prompt, high‑quality technical support.

Key responsibilities

• Answer inbound calls and manage email enquiries via dedicated support hotlines.
• Log instrument faults and service actions in Microsoft Dynamics CRM.
• Schedule emergency call‑outs, preventative maintenance visits and urgent corrective actions.
• Collaborate with field service engineers to meet response KPIs.
• Maintain accurate service records and generate KPI reports for stakeholders.
• Coordinate maintenance with partner suppliers to maximise instrument uptime.
• Escalate complex issues and support inventory management processes.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a customer‑service, coordination or scheduling role working to KPIs.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Proven ability to handle escalations across multiple stakeholders.
• Experience producing performance or KPI reports.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with Microsoft Dynamics CRM (essential).
• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.
