Service Supervisor

About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Service Supervisor to join a growing engineering business. You will lead the day‑to‑day operation of a busy service department, ensuring efficient delivery of reactive call‑outs, planned preventative maintenance, repairs and small works.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver all reactive and planned service activities, allocating engineers and resources effectively.
• Take ownership of breakdown response, ensuring prompt allocation and timely resolution.
• Produce quotations for additional works and small projects following site visits.
• Manage service contracts, oversee renewals and maintain strong customer relationships.
• Maintain Health & Safety documentation, including RAMS, and ensure compliance with F‑Gas regulations.
• Lead the Service Desk, ensuring accurate job logging, tracking and completion.
• Coach, develop and review performance of field service engineers.
• Build and manage a reliable subcontractor network, ensuring quality and value for money.
• Monitor labour, parts and subcontractor costs to ensure commercial performance.
• Track and report on service KPIs, driving continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Solid background in the HVAC and/or refrigeration industry.
• Previous experience in a Service Supervisor, Service Manager or Engineering Management role.
• Strong organisational abilities and experience managing field‑based engineers.
