Service Technician

About the role

As a Service Technician at Schindler UK & Ireland you will be responsible for the routine servicing, minor repairs and fault diagnosis of lift equipment across the South East England region. You will work on a variety of multi‑brand elevators, escalators and moving walks, ensuring they operate safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing of lift equipment, including component replacement in line with company procedures.
• Diagnose and rectify breakdowns, checking speed, motor start/stop, noise, temperature and power supply using approved tools.
• Perform routine inspections and adjustments of installations, completing all required service documentation.
• Undertake fault‑finding and diagnostic procedures using technical manuals and test equipment to restore equipment to service.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used.

Required profile

• Minimum NVQ Level 3 qualification in lift maintenance or equivalent.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and operate independently.
• Good communication skills with clients, service leaders and inspectors.
• Manual dexterity for repetitive lifting and use of hand/power tools.
