Set Assistant

About the role

We are seeking a Set Assistant to support the daily operation of our studio at NEXT Wholly Owned Brands. Reporting to the Studio Manager, you will work closely with Art Directors and Photographers to build, maintain and organise sets that bring creative concepts to life.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble and dismantle set builds safely and efficiently, following Art Director briefs and lighting diagrams.
• Maintain the cleanliness and tidiness of all studio areas and seasonal sets.
• Assist photographers with lighting setups and equipment as required.
• Organise, store and maintain studio props and equipment, ordering new items and managing associated expenses.
• Arrange courier services for the movement of props and products between sites.
• Source and hire additional equipment for specific projects.
• Act as a runner on shoots, providing ad‑hoc support to Art Directors, Photographers and the Studio Manager.

Required profile

• Knowledge of set builds, materials and paints; experience configuring new set designs is a plus.
• Comfortable with manual handling and moving heavy flats.
• Experience using power tools and assembling sets/props; carpentry experience preferred.
• Interest in set design and familiarity with current photographic kit and equipment.
• Excellent prioritisation and organisational skills.
