Sheet Metal Worker

About the role

We are seeking a Sheet Metal Worker to join a well‑established precision engineering manufacturer in Ferndown, Dorset. This ongoing temporary position offers the chance to become permanent based on performance.

Key responsibilities

• Manufacture and fabricate sheet‑metal components from engineering drawings.
• Cut, fold, form and assemble sheet‑metal parts using machinery and hand tools.
• Perform drilling, tapping, countersinking and other finishing operations as required.
• Inspect components against drawings and quality standards.
• Work with materials such as stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe work environment.
• Collaborate with production and quality teams to meet manufacturing deadlines.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Sheet Metal Worker in an engineering or manufacturing setting.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Proactive attitude with strong attention to detail.
• Capability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable and flexible approach to work.

Required skills

• Operating sheet‑metal machinery (cutting, folding, forming equipment).
• Using hand tools for drilling, tapping, countersinking.
• Reading engineering drawings.

What we offer

• £14.50 per hour plus overtime at 1.5×.
• 39‑hour week, Monday‑Thursday 7:30‑16:45, Friday 7:30‑12:30.
