Sheet Metal Worker Trainer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Sheet Metal Worker Trainer to join a well‑established aerospace manufacturing business in Hyde. This part‑time, short‑term contract offers flexible hours and the chance to share your expertise with the next generation of engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Manufacture precision aerospace sheet‑metal components to engineering drawings and specifications.
• Form thin sheet aluminium using rubber‑press, hand‑forming and wheeling techniques.
• Produce work to close tolerances and the highest aerospace quality standards.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and manufacturing specifications.
• Train, mentor and develop junior or less‑experienced sheet‑metal workers.
• Share best practice and provide technical guidance to the wider team.
• Ensure all work is carried out safely, complying with Health & Safety procedures and 5S standards.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in aerospace sheet‑metal manufacturing.
• Proven ability to form thin aluminium using rubber‑press, hand‑forming and wheeling.
• Strong capability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Previous experience mentoring, coaching or training colleagues.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to high‑quality workmanship.
• Effective communication with a patient, supportive approach.
• Commitment to safety, quality and housekeeping standards.
