SHEQ Advisor – Safety, Health, Environment & Quality

About the role

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced SHEQ Advisor to join a market‑leading waste recycling and industrial processing business. You will be responsible for managing and implementing the site’s Safety, Health, Environment and Quality management systems, ensuring compliance and driving continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and improve ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.
• Conduct risk assessments, workplace inspections and compliance audits.
• Lead accident and incident investigations using root‑cause analysis.
• Support safe systems of work, COSHH assessments and permit management.
• Monitor legal compliance with environmental law, building regulations and health & safety legislation.
• Prepare analytical reports and champion continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Health, Safety, Environmental & Quality role.
• Background in industrial, manufacturing, recycling or processing environments.
• Strong knowledge of environmental law, building regulations and relevant H&S legislation.
• Proven experience conducting audits, investigations and implementing corrective actions.

Required skills

• ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.
• Risk assessment and workplace inspection techniques.
• Compliance auditing and root‑cause incident investigation.
• COSHH assessment and permit‑to‑work management.
• Risk Identification & Evaluation (RI&E) and Management of Change (MOC) processes.
