Shift Chemist

About the role

Join Tradebe UK as a Shift Chemist and support the operation of analytical laboratories that serve a range of plant production sectors. You will work on a 4‑on/4‑off shift pattern, ensuring rapid, accurate and reliable analytical services while maintaining high health and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Liaise with shift team members and Shift Managers, documenting hand‑overs in the shift changeover logbook.
• Operate laboratory equipment according to standard operating procedures, including cleaning, maintenance and daily calibration.
• Record analytical data, perform quality‑control checks and file reports promptly to avoid backlogs.
• Take and analyse samples from process plants and bulk tanker inputs to prevent processing delays and demurrage.
• Communicate non‑conforming results, report out‑of‑control findings and monitor historic data for trends.
• Carry out health‑ and safety‑related monitoring such as COSHH personnel monitoring, COSHH assessments and VOC monitoring.

Required profile

• Effective communication skills for shift hand‑overs and reporting.
• Strong awareness of health and safety procedures within a laboratory environment.
• Ability to work autonomously on a rotating shift schedule.
