Shift Engineer – Electrical Maintenance in FMCG

About the role

This position is for a Shift Engineer responsible for electrical maintenance in a high‑speed FMCG manufacturing plant. You will join a fully automated factory that has recently invested in new production lines and upgraded machinery. The role offers a clear path to technical or managerial progression.

Key responsibilities

• Perform electrical maintenance, fault‑finding and corrective actions on automated production and packaging equipment.
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance to maximise uptime.
• Respond to breakdowns and reactive maintenance requests on a 4‑on‑4‑off shift pattern (days and nights).
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within the maintenance team.

Required profile

• Proven maintenance experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
• Hands‑on experience with pre‑planned, reactive and breakdown maintenance in a fast‑paced factory.
• Ability to work a 4‑on‑4‑off shift schedule, covering both day and night shifts.
• Recognised engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3, HNC or equivalent).
• Experience in FMCG or high‑speed food manufacturing is essential.
