Shift Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Shift Engineer to join the production team at our Bromborough facility. The role involves delivering effective engineering support on a rotating shift pattern, ensuring plant performance meets targets and key performance indicators.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain all site assets to a high standard, ensuring optimal performance and availability.
• Execute planned and reactive maintenance activities safely and efficiently.
• Drive plant reliability through hands‑on interventions, improvements and analysis.
• Apply and communicate robust safe systems of work and risk assessments.
• Deliver on engineering KPIs and support the development of equipment standards.
• Manage engineering stock control and keep system records accurate.
• Coach and train production colleagues to enhance equipment knowledge.

Required profile

• Recognised qualification in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering (e.g., BTEC Engineering Certificate or equivalent).
• Broad knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical, electrical, PLCs and inverter assets.
• Experience in risk assessment and safe maintenance practices.
• Competence working with high‑hazard equipment and safe isolation procedures.
