Shift Leader

About the role

Join Friends of the Elderly (FotE) at New Copford Place, a residential care home in Copford, Essex. As a Shift Leader you will oversee the delivery of person‑centred care, ensuring residents feel safe, comfortable and respected while supporting their independence and dignity.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a team of care staff during day, evening and weekend shifts.
• Provide high‑quality, individualised care in line with policies and procedures.
• Maintain accurate records and follow medication ordering, administration and dispensing protocols.
• Conduct staff supervisions, appraisals and promote professional development.
• Ensure a clean, safe environment and adhere to infection‑control standards.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years experience in a similar care‑home role.
• Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care (or working towards it).
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Good digital literacy and problem‑solving skills.
• Awareness of safeguarding procedures and ability to report concerns.
