Shift Maintenance Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Shift Maintenance Engineer to join a leading food manufacturer’s high‑performing engineering team in Leeds. Working a 4‑on‑4‑off shift pattern, you will help improve equipment reliability, minimise downtime and support continuous improvement initiatives in a modern manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out planned, preventative and reactive maintenance on process equipment.
• Record all maintenance activities in the CMMS (SAP preferred).
• Support root‑cause analysis (RCA) and drive continuous‑improvement projects.
• Promote health & safety standards, including LOTO and Permit‑to‑Work procedures.
• Provide engineering support for site improvement projects.

Required profile

• Level 3 Engineering Maintenance Apprenticeship or equivalent qualification.
• Previous maintenance engineering experience in manufacturing, FMCG or food production.
• Strong fault‑finding and problem‑solving abilities.
• Experience using SAP PM and working on continuous‑improvement initiatives.
