Shift Maintenance Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Shift Maintenance Engineer to join a large industrial company’s automated factory in Faringdon. The role works a rotating early/late shift pattern supporting production machinery and offers opportunities for further qualifications.

Key responsibilities

• Perform reactive troubleshooting and repair of production equipment.
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) tasks.
• Assist with new installations and refurbishments.
• Record maintenance activities in the CMMS accurately.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years’ maintenance experience in a manufacturing or process environment (mechanical or electrical focus).
• Completed Engineering Level 3 and 4 NVQ qualifications; HND or C&G equivalent is a plus.
• Self‑motivated, able to make quick decisions and work safely.
• Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships at all levels.

Required skills

• Mechanical maintenance – conveyors, boilers, packaging equipment, bearings, belts, motors.
• Electrical knowledge – 3‑phase power, sensors, inverters, relays, contactors, PLCs.
• Pneumatics and hydraulics.
• Use of MS Office and CMMS systems.
