About the role

As a Shift Multi‑Skilled Technician you will join Skanska’s building services team at Royal Papworth Hospital in Cambridge, delivering planned preventative maintenance, testing, repairs and new installations across a wide range of hospital equipment and systems.

Key responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance on electrical and mechanical plant.
  • Inspect, test and certify electrical and mechanical installations, including portable appliances.
  • Perform repairs and new installations on hospital services and systems.
  • Work safely in accordance with HTM, HBN and other statutory regulations.
  • Act as Competent Person for LV electrical systems and selected mechanical systems (boiler & pressure, medical gas, confined spaces).

Required profile

  • BTEC/HNC or City & Guilds Craft qualification or equivalent.
  • Recognised apprenticeship.
  • Current 17th Edition IEE Regulation certificate.
  • Competent Person status for LV electrical systems.
  • Competent Person status for at least one mechanical system.
  • Ability to work shift patterns in a hospital environment.

Required skills

  • Knowledge of HTM and HBN regulations.
  • LV electrical system testing and certification.
  • Mechanical system maintenance (boiler, pressure, medical gas, confined spaces).
  • Use of inspection and testing equipment for electrical and mechanical assets.
