Shift Supervisor (3x shift pattern)

About the role

Our prestigious blue‑chip manufacturing client is seeking a Shift Supervisor to lead a 3‑shift operation in Middlesbrough. You will oversee skilled and semi‑skilled operators, ensuring safe, efficient, and high‑quality production while meeting customer delivery targets.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise machine operators across three shifts, maintaining safety and quality standards.
• Monitor daily performance, adjust schedules, and address delays to meet customer SLAs.
• Plan and allocate resources to fulfil production demand and delivery deadlines.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and contribute to production planning meetings.
• Develop and deliver training programmes, onboard new staff, and manage preventative maintenance schedules.
• Identify and implement process improvements using lean tools.

Required profile

• Previous supervisory or managerial experience in engineering or manufacturing.
• Highly organised, structured and flexible with the ability to work under pressure.
• Strong decision‑making, delegation and conflict‑management skills.
• Excellent written and spoken communication.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
• Experience with lean manufacturing tools such as 5S and Kaizen.
