Shipping Manager

About the role

We are seeking a Shipping Manager to take full ownership of all international shipping operations for our client base, based near Heathrow. You will lead the day‑to‑day running of a small department and drive its growth as the business expands.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end export and import shipments across air, sea and road.
• Liaise with airlines, shipping lines, freight partners and overseas agents.
• Prepare and present international shipping quotations and obtain freight rates.
• Build accurate operational costings and support pricing strategy and margin control.
• Coordinate with warehouse and transport teams to ensure smooth workflow.
• Maintain shipping processes within Salesforce and continuously improve systems and operational structure.

Required profile

• Proven experience in international shipping, freight forwarding or specialist logistics.
• Demonstrated ability to prepare freight quotations and detailed costings.
• Strong understanding of import/export regulations and procedures.
• Excellent organisational skills with the capacity to manage multiple shipments simultaneously.
• Attention to detail and strong communication abilities.
