Shot Blast Operator – Fixed‑Term 22‑Month Role

About the role

We are seeking a Shot Blast Operator to join a 22‑month fixed‑term assignment at a modern Caterpillar articulated‑truck manufacturing plant in Peterlee. You will work in a quality‑driven environment, operating shot blasting machinery on day, afternoon or night shifts with generous overtime opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and monitor shot blast machines according to standard work procedures.
• Maintain a safe working environment and wear mandatory PPE at all times.
• Perform manual lifting and assist with material handling as required.
• Record production data and report any equipment issues.
• Participate in regular training and induction sessions.

Required profile

• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Familiarity with modern manufacturing practices and safety protocols.
• Previous experience operating shot blasting machinery.
• Relevant NVQ qualification.
• Willingness to comply with mandatory PPE requirements.
