Simulator Technician

About the role

The Simulator Technician will support the P8 Training Services at RAF Lossiemouth, ensuring that flight simulators and related training equipment are operational, reliable, and up‑to‑date. You will work within the P8 Device Maintenance Department, performing hands‑on maintenance, testing and upgrades on sophisticated simulation systems.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with repairs, installations, configurations, upgrades and modifications of simulators, training components, hardware and software.
• Carry out pre‑operation and post‑operation inspections of training devices and components.
• Conduct functional tests, monitor instrumentation and bench‑mounted indicators.
• Troubleshoot systems and support equipment to isolate faults and repair faulty components.
• Work under limited supervision while following safety and military governance standards.
• Develop and improve processes and procedures to enhance department performance.
• Perform additional duties as directed by the Shift Lead or Engineering Manager.

Required profile

• Excellent organisational and computing abilities.
• Good experience with electronic and electrical systems.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
