Site Electrician – Commercial, Industrial & Rail

About the role

TNS Contractors Ltd is seeking an experienced Site Electrician to join its team delivering electrical projects across rail, commercial and industrial sites in the South East of England. The role involves travelling to locations in Essex, London and Cambridgeshire, working on a variety of installations and remedial works.

Key responsibilities

• Read and interpret electrical and technical drawings.
• Install metallic containment such as conduit, trunking, cable trays, baskets and ladders.
• Wire and terminate single‑phase and three‑phase circuits.
• Install SWA, single‑core and FP‑type cabling, as well as other commercial wiring systems.
• Fit or replace distribution boards and MCCB panels.
• Carry out lighting and emergency‑lighting installations.
• Perform electrical infrastructure and distribution work, including EICR remedial tasks.
• Conduct testing, inspection and certification where required.
• Install data, CCTV and access‑control systems where applicable.
• Follow company and site health & safety procedures.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering electrical installations on commercial, industrial or rail projects.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards.
• Willingness to travel to multiple sites and adapt to occasional evening or night work.
