Site Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Site Engineer to join a leading construction business at its Cumbria depot. The role is permanent, full‑time and based on‑site, offering the chance to work on diverse projects while developing your engineering expertise.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Commercial department to provide accurate measurement data.
• Work with the Project Team and subcontractors to ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and legal requirements.
• Produce permits, task briefs and other documentation, ensuring all parties are briefed before work commences.
• Contribute to the three‑weekly construction programme and deliver works according to schedule.
• Provide engineering control and setting‑out based on the latest approved design information.
• Develop and support temporary works solutions, ensuring they are built and dismantled safely.
• Mentor junior staff, promote high standards of HSE, sustainability and quality, and manage incident follow‑up actions.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of construction specifications and legal compliance.
• Ability to produce and manage project documentation.
• Experience working with multidisciplinary project teams.
• Commitment to health, safety and environmental best practices.
