Site Engineer – Large‑Scale Infrastructure Projects

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Site Engineer to join Randstad’s project delivery team on the high‑profile Manor Road NOS7 and NOS8 remediation scheme for Thames Water. The role will be involved from the design phase through to construction, supporting the repair of bridge structures and trunk sewer barrels across major rail and road networks.

Key responsibilities

• Promote a zero‑harm safety culture by actively championing company Cardinal Rules on‑site.
• Ensure all site activities meet legal, company and environmental requirements.
• Develop and maintain HSQE documentation, risk assessments, method statements and inspection‑test plans.
• Drive defect‑free delivery by applying best construction practices and identifying value‑engineering opportunities.
• Establish precise level and survey controls and set out works in line with contract drawings.
• Participate in pre‑construction reviews to secure stakeholder consents, asset protections and permits.
• Maintain accurate project records, including site diaries, allocation sheets, drawing registers and photographic logs.
• Monitor commercial performance, flag potential variations and assist the Site Agent with short‑term look‑ahead programmes.

Required profile

• Relevant engineering qualification (e.g., civil or construction engineering).
• Experience working on large‑scale infrastructure or remediation projects.
• Strong understanding of health, safety, quality and environmental standards.
• Ability to work collaboratively with Site Agents, Sub‑Agents and multidisciplinary engineers.

Required skills

• Surveying and setting‑out techniques.
• Development of risk assessments, method statements and inspection‑test plans.
• HSQE documentation preparation.
• Commercial awareness of contract performance.
