Site HSE Advisor

About the role

The role involves providing HSE leadership on a major energy infrastructure project focused on decommissioning and carbon capture. You will ensure health, safety and environmental standards are met throughout the EPIC phases, supporting a high‑profile UK energy transition.

Key responsibilities

• Promote a positive HSE culture through workforce engagement and training.
• Conduct regular HSE inspections, audits and site monitoring.
• Monitor subcontractor compliance with project HSE requirements.
• Ensure equipment and activities meet legislation and project standards.
• Prepare, review and support risk assessments, Job Safety Analyses and safe systems of work.
• Oversee Permit to Work processes and hazardous material controls.
• Track and report HSE performance, KPIs and leading indicators.
• Support incident investigations, root‑cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Drive continuous improvement and environmental compliance initiatives.

Required profile

• NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent HSE qualification.
• Relevant qualification in Health & Safety, Engineering or a related discipline.
• Several years of experience in the Oil & Gas or major construction sector.
• Experience supporting on‑shore construction projects and knowledge of CDM Regulations.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
• Ability to work independently while supporting project teams.
