Site Manager – 3 Month Contract in North Devon

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Site Manager for a three‑month contract on a high‑value public sector scheme in North Devon. Reporting to the on‑site Senior Project Manager, you will maintain full visibility of site activities and ensure the project progresses safely, on time and within budget.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and monitor the supply chain, ensuring quality control and timely delivery to project milestones.
• Oversee health and safety compliance, including daily site inspections and incident reporting.
• Manage subcontractors and on‑site personnel, fostering effective communication and workflow.
• Track progress against the final phases of the scheme, addressing any issues that could impact delivery.
• Maintain accurate documentation for building regulations and the Building Safety Act.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Site Manager on major schemes of £10 million or more, preferably within the public sector.
• Strong technical aptitude with a solid main‑contracting background.
• Excellent understanding of Building Regulations and the Building Safety Act.
• Ability to manage people, processes and health‑and‑safety standards on a busy site.

Required skills

• SMSTS certification.
• CSCS Card (Black, White or Gold).
• First Aid at Work certification.
• Asbestos awareness.
• Scaffold inspection competence.
• Temporary works knowledge.
