Site Manager – Construction Projects

About the role

Our client, an established construction company based in Newcastle upon Tyne, is seeking an experienced Site Manager to lead and supervise construction projects. Reporting to the Contracts Manager, you will ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and to client specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise construction projects, meeting client specifications, quality standards, and deadlines.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, design teams, and the supply chain to align on project objectives and progress.
• Monitor project costs, margins, and resources in collaboration with quantity surveyors to maintain budgetary control.
• Review designs and identify value‑engineering opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
• Prepare and manage site reports, drawings, look‑ahead programmes, and schedules.
• Coordinate subcontractors and suppliers to ensure seamless site operations.
• Record and communicate site instructions, updates, and issues promptly.
• Conduct safety inspections and uphold the highest standards of site safety, complying with HSE regulations.
• Maintain quality control in line with QEMS procedures and resolve issues proactively.
• Assist in contract negotiations, secure permits, and close out snagging and defect processes using Audit Brick.Build.

• Work independently, demonstrating initiative, organization, and the ability to prioritize competing tasks efficiently.
• Thrive under pressure, meet strict deadlines, and adapt to changing project demands.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Audit Brick.Build for snagging and defect management.
• Familiarity with QEMS quality‑control procedures.

What we offer

• Competitive salary £43,000 – £45,000 per annum (dependent on experience).
• Monday‑Friday 08:00‑17:00 schedule with an earlier finish on Fridays.
• 25 days annual leave plus public holidays and a birthday bonus.
