Site Manager – Construction Projects (Reading)

About the role

We are partnering with a well‑established regional main contractor to find an experienced Site Manager for a variety of projects across Hampshire, Berkshire and Oxfordshire. Based in the Reading area, you will support larger schemes as Number 2 and take full ownership of smaller new‑build or refurbishment jobs.

Key responsibilities

• Act as Number 2 on projects up to ~£5 million, supporting the Project Manager.
• Take full responsibility for refurbishment or new‑build schemes up to ~£1 million.
• Coordinate subcontractors, trades and site labour to keep the programme on track.
• Oversee internal and external works packages and ensure quality standards.
• Maintain strong health & safety compliance across the site.

Required profile

• Proven experience on construction sites, preferably as a senior site supervisor or deputy manager.
• Ability to manage both large, multi‑discipline projects and smaller independent jobs.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• Commitment to health & safety best practice.
