Site Manager – Gateway Dining Facility

About the role

The Site Manager will oversee the daily operations of the Gateway Dining Facility at RAF Mildenhall, ensuring that food service delivery meets the highest standards of quality, safety and efficiency. Reporting to the Contracting Officer Representative and DFAC management, you will lead a team of Mess Attendants and Contingency Cooks while maintaining contract compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate Mess Attendants and Contingency Cooks assigned to the facility.
• Ensure dining operations comply with quality, sanitation and food‑safety regulations.
• Monitor staff performance, manage schedules and address personnel issues such as absences, performance concerns and training needs.
• Maintain on‑site quality‑control procedures, conduct inspections and document findings.
• Coordinate with the Contracting Officer Representative (COR) and DFAC management on operational matters.
• Ensure all contractor employees follow security, OPSEC and base regulations.
• Maintain clean and sanitary conditions in dining areas, kitchen facilities and equipment.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of experience managing DFAC or institutional food‑service operations.
• ServSafe Manager certification (or obtain within 30 days of start date).
• Ability to read, write and speak English fluently.
• Legal authorization to work in the United Kingdom.
